Walter Lewis "Tiny' Brock |
| Walter Lewis "Tiny" Brock, 78, of Mountain Home, formerly of
Tuckerman, died Thursday, August 2, 2001. He was born August 19, 1922, in Letona, to the
late R.L. and Martha Brock of Tuckerman. He served in World War II in the U.S. Air Force
as an air traffic controller. He was an accomplished pilot, and an employee of Missouri
Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years as a telegrapher and computer operator. He
was also a world-class fudge maker and a member of the Churches of Christ in Tuckerman,
Yellville, and Mountain Home. Survivors include five daughters, Sharon Beasley of Cotton Plant, Brenda Turner of Mountain Home, Martha Pickens of Middlefield, Connecticut, Alice Johnson of Little Rock, and Carla Newton of Pleasant Plains; one son, Walter L. Brock II; two sisters, Lula Jones of Killeen, Texas, and Louise Mullen of Searcy; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, and one son, Robert G. Brock. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home chapel, with Thom Stapleton officiating. Burial will be at Dowell's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled to be from 2 to 4 this afternoon. Pallbearers will be Henry Rice, Andy Rice, Tom Turner, Robert Newton, Terry Thomas, and Jeff Pickens. |
