business in Searcy, they moved to Memphis where he joined Weil Brothers
Cotton as a cotton buyer.
They moved to Fresno, Calif., in 1956 where he was named assistant manager

During his career in the cotton business, he held a
number of industry leadership positions including President of the Fresno
Cotton Exchange and Vice President and President of Western Cotton Shippers
Association. A major influence in San Joaquin Valley cotton marketing, he
was often quoted in both local and national press on western cotton
production estimates as well as cotton import and export levels.
