Alicia Lynn Barnard, the 18-year-old daughter of Darrel and Kathy Barnard of Rose Bud, was named the 2001 White County Fair Queen during the Monday evening pageant.
Barnard was chosen out of 19 contestants representing extension homemakers clubs from across the county.
First runner-up was Catrina Lou Kelly, 17-year-old daughter of Raymond and LaDonna Kelly of Searcy.
Cari Elizabeth Allen, the 19-year-old daughter of Jim and Gisela Allen of Beebe, was named second-runner up.
Following the pageant, Barnard said she was excited and honored.
She said that this was her first pageant, but was reminded of the Little Miss Enola Pageant that she entered as a three-year-old.
She added that she did not really make any special preparations to prepare for the pageant.
"I already had the dress from Homecoming. I used an old dress and prayed hard," she said.
Barnard is a 2001 graduate of Rose Bud High School where she was an officer in FCCLA, along with being an active member of the Beta and Bible Clubs.
She was also the 2000-2001 Homecoming Queen at Rose Bud. She is a member of Rose Bud Assembly of God Church where she leads the children's choir.
She is currently attending Arkansas State University-Beebe where she is majoring in communications.
The additional top five contestants in the pageant were Candice Prejean and Carlene Ann Colebank.
