BE IT RESOLVED BY THE QUORUM COURT OF THE COUNTY OF WHITE, STATE OF ARKANSAS, A RESOLUTION ENTITLED:wcclerk@cswnet.com
RESOLUTION 99-19
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY JUDGE OF WHITE COUNTY TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE BOND COMPANY OF STEPHENS, INC., AND WITH THE FIRM OF FRIDAY, ELDREDGE & CLARK, TO SERVE AS BOND COUNSEL, IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW WHITE COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY.
WHEREAS, White County has taken preliminary steps in engaging an architectural firm to plan and design a new detention center facility; and
WHEREAS, the Budget and Finance Committee has heard proposals and received qualifications frnm three bond companies: Morgan Keegan & Company, Stephens, Inc., and Crews & Associates; and from two bond counsels: Friday, Eldredge & Clark, and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings; and
WHEREAS, the Budget & Finance Committee has recommended to the White County Quorum Court the firm of Morgan Keegan, & Company to negotiate with White County in serving as the bond company, and the firrn of Friday, Eldredge & Clark to negotiate with White County in serving as bond counsel in connection with the issuance of bonds to finance the construction project of a new detention center facility for White County; and
WHEREAS, the White County Quorum Court has adopted by amendment the firm of Stephens, Inc. to replace Morgan, Keegan & Company, as the recommended bond company.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the White County Quorum Court that:
The County Judge of White County, Arkansas is hereby authorized to negotiate with the firm of Stephens, Inc. in serving as the bond company and with the firm of Friday, Eldredge & Clark in serving as bond counsel in connection with the issuance of bonds to finance the construction of a new detention center for White County.
THIS RESOLUTION shall be in full force and effect upon its approval by this Quorum Court.
